I've had one where I was on a world and I eventually found sheep and made a man-cave, plopped down all my stuff and made farms and loads of things. Then I switched to easy from peaceful and tried to fight some stuff, I came down to one heart, and bolted to my cave. (Here's the kicker) I'm dieing of hunger and other things when I say, I'll just wait and die, so I stand in a corner and tried to break stone with my hand (chuck Norris style) and to my surprise, the stone broke and spawned a silverfish, then another, then 7 more. I got killed four times and grabbed a stone sword and stood up on my bed, frantically slicing all of them. After that, I never play on easy or higher I only stay on peaceful.
