Ary's Builds

  1. Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho! Off to build I go!

A compilation of my builds, both complete and in-progress.
    Constructive criticism is much appreciated.

  3. Nice!!
I feel like builds like those would look better in the frontier than in town, though. But of course town gives a lot of privileges the frontier does not.

  4. I agree with you, 607. I have thought about joining/setting up an outpost simply due to how much I do like to build. I just don't know which outpost to join or if it would be easier to just establish my own...

  5. Nice build. I am personally not a big fan of vanilla trees though. Custom trees almost always look better.

  6. Thank you Zrugite. I'll work with the trees. :)

  7. Really good, I also like the fact that you try to do the trees, even thou it's not what you used to do :)

  8. It looks great. If only I had the ambition to follow through with finishing projects. xD And as for how easy it is to make your own outpost. It's really not difficult. The only tough parts are choosing which server you want it on, picking the server for it and of course making it far out enough in the frontier to be away from other players outposts and to have privacy. And you also have to survive all the way to your destination. Other than that it's easy and simple. There's a thread somewhere with instructions on what to do. But I don't have time to find it. xD Keep up the great work though!

  9. Amazing! I like the textures/blocks on those pillars. It really adds some more contrast and creates a 'temple-like' feel. :)

  10. Really cool build. Reminds me of a lost temple buried in a jungle somewhere.

Outposts are nice for certain. More space to work with.. so things can be sized to your desire and all. However its nice to have some things in town for others to see as outpost builds are seen by very few... only images in the forums for the most part.

  11. I would love to see this Jungle temple out at my Outpost on smp8. We have a jungle biome within our boundaries.
Just imagine taking a bout ride down the river through the jungle and spotting this. That would be freaking awesome.

Here is a link to the thread about the outpost. Inside the thread is an application. https://empireminecraft.com/threads/est-erebus-on-eight.71231/

  12. You did a really good job at showing that ancient temple feeling. It looks magnificent! There's lots of depth to it and the mossy cobble and trees really add to it. I bet you'd do well on the build team.

  13. Aww, thanks everyone. ^_^

Trees have actually been taken down right now as multiple people suggested custom trees rather than vanilla trees. I'm currently working on the interior.

  14. Here's some interior pictures of this same res. The main 'worship' room as it were, since I've gone with this temple theme.

The lighting is actually fairly bright on default MC settings, but I find this room looks quite eerie with shaders. :p

  15. Well...ran into some problems with my ruins build. There's no room for all my shop chests! And trying to make them fit is starting to look messy, sooooo....here's my new build for my shop. Once again, it's on SMP6, res number 13637. However, you will not be able to visit at this time as I have move turned off. If you wish to see it in person, go to my ruins build and just run to the next plot over.

This was heavily inspired by a build shared on planetminecraft, but the further I go along, the more distinct differences there will be. I plan for there to be several stories to this build, a bit like a skyscraper.
The build referenced can be seen here: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/spawn-tower-685253/

As for my ruins build, I will continue to work on it on the side. Mostly it's details and landscaping left to be done. I may or may not add a game or parkour deal below it just to give it a purpose.

  16. I know it's been a long while since I added anything to this thread, but I don't want to create another 'Ary's Builds' thread if this one still exists.

I took a bit of a leave of absence from EMC for several months, only logging in to keep from going derelict. This last month I've been pretty active though. Finally finished that build above, which makes me happy since I am terrible about not finishing builds for one reason or another. SMP6, res number 13637. However, it is currently closed to the public as I am still setting up shop chests and getting stock in.

Interior underground is 6 layers with a 3 story fountain in the center:

Each floor of the shop looks about like this:

And finally the center of the bottom floor of the res:

  17. I agree with the above two posts. There are also two jungle biomes within the MPO's boundaries, and it'd be awesome if suddenly this was seen in a jungle while riding a boat on a river or a minecart on tracks.

  18. Well, it's a concept you could implement. I based my temple build off of the ocean temples really. Nothing terribly unique.

  19. Nice! How long did digging take?
    We3_MPO likes this.
  20. If you mean the dirt in my res, there was hardly any digging. There's a staff service to remove the dirt in residences, for a fee. As for the stone and quartz. Lots of mining, and help from friends, and in the end I bought the rest of what I needed.
