Gaming is one of the worlds few examples where gender, race and circumstance really does not matter because there is no physical interface between the participants. It's all pixels on a screen. At some point or another, we have all had our backsides kicked in gaming by a child under ten, a man over 50, a woman, a black man, yellow man, white man, disabled person, lawyer, unemployed person, and so on and so on. Everyone is equal online.
My son grew up without video games and yet he can school me well in a few PS2 games that he does have. I found out the hard way that gender roles don't particularly apply to my daughter either, as she would rather play with Hot Wheels and Army Men than with Barbies and ponies... The only gender roles my children really fall into are the ones influenced by their hispanic culture, which is not related to toys and videogames but rather work and family life. Yet, they are much more similar than they are in the generally expected U.S. beliefs.
lets all be nice here. also i think that study included games like angry birds and facebook games, so i personally think that more women play angry birds than, lets say, Battlefield 3. im not saying they play easy games (im terrible at angry birds). let there be peace and no more instigating comments against women and men! please
Lol males make everything harder it seems. Girls say there is no difference between games, and males have our own scale of difficulty lol.
not when you are with a group of people who play the game like a real military simulation. both genders are equal when it comes to gaming. separate individuals are not. its all about the person/people who you are fighting/playing with.
People play battlefield like a real military simulation? There are other games better suited for it. Then again I know people who roleplay on CoD.
All of them except bf3. I played bf3 with a friends account for a bit and I currently don't really have any fps games installed. I've been addicted to SwTor.
Although I do like this idea, maybe it is best to keep all ages playing togther?I guess in a way it is.The immaturity doesn't seem to get out of hand since the mods do such a great job.
I play BF3 for the action fix, but personally I find it's glorified and needlessly machismo, but I suppose that's part of its marketing ploy. We laugh about it in work because if we found ourselves in any of the conflicts BF3 depicts, we sure as hell wouldn't be running around guns blazing. We'd be hiding in a corner wetting ourselves. Oh, and Battlefield 1942 with the Desert Combat Mod is far superior to BF3 anyway.
Back on Subject! I'm 54 this Sat and I love this game and others I've played in the past online or not. My 4 (yes 4) year old grandson has his own Mincecraft account and we play together at home and he loves creative mode but he's one HELL of a griefer and not a builder. I just like the heck out of survival.
Glad you like it here! By the way you're not truly old until you hit 50. Look forward to seeing you around! Maybe you could check out my rock paper scissors redstone machine at 12182 on smp6! It's epic I bet you'll have tough time figuring out how it works
