The Games Update

  1. We are excited to announce the return of mini games and parkour on the Games server! We have been working to restore the Funland games and convert them to code, as well as making more events available for moderators to host.

    Type /games to connect and then go through the Funland teleport!

    Report any bugs to pmdev.emc.gs!

    The games included in this update are:

    Staff Hosted:
    • Netherspleef
      • Use shears to break the wool blocks underneath other players. The last player standing wins
      • This event is now fully converted from command blocks to code. All moderators have the ability to use custom floors
      • Now includes a prize room, similar to the one in FireFloor
    • FistFight
      • Use your fists to punch other players off the floating islands. The last player standing wins
      • This event is now fully converted from command blocks to code
      • Moved from SMP3 to the Games Server
    • Snowball Fight
      • Throw snowballs at the other team to knock all of their players off the platforms. The last team with players remaining wins
      • Moved from SMP7 to the Games Server
      • This event can now be hosted by moderators
    • FireFloor
      • Avoid falling into the holes formed by the floor burning away. The last player standing wins
      • This event is now fully converted from command blocks to code. All moderators now have the ability to use custom floors and run PvP rounds. There is also a command to count how many blocks remain in the arena.
    • Mob Arena
      • Fight hordes of mobs and be the last player standing to win
      • Moderators now have the ability to fill the arena with water and to use custom arena designs
    No Staff Required:
    • ArrowSpleef
      • Shoot the terracotta blocks to make them disappear. Don't fall through the holes! The last player standing wins
    • Spleef
      • Use shears to break the wool blocks underneath other players. The last player standing wins
    • Rainbow Runner
      • Previously known as RainbowChin Runner
      • Dodge the incoming waves of wool blocks. Don't jump or get hit or you're out! Last player standing wins
    • Simon Says
      • Previously known as B4DMAN5IMON Says
      • Run to the block that matches the one that appears in your inventory. When time runs out, all of the other blocks in the arena will disappear. The last player standing wins
    A couple of parkour courses are now available again as well. You can access these courses through the parkour teleport in the games lobby:
    • Mirror Block
    • Frost Jump
    A few things on the Games Server are still available but did not receive an update, including TNT Run, SMP PvP, and the Staff Hosted Event residences.

  2. Please note that Rainbow Runner has some known issues. We will continue to work on it and improve it. :)

  6. The server itself is back up - but with Rainbow Runner disabled while we sort out what the issue is.

    I'd say this should probably be frontpaged... although I rarely notice posts there. :rolleyes:

  8. It was. Games server crashed last night and we de-front pages it while it was down.
    Send it back.
  9. Small update for mirror block's checkpoint system: When you fall it will now teleport you back to the first parkour of the level you fell on, rather than the beginning of the parkour game. Achievement messages are in the works and will follow in a future update.

    Having said that it is possible to set up a hard mode for any players who want to not have a checkpoint. If there's enough interest I can look into setting that up.
