Unfortunately, it probably is. Climate change is making the southeastern USA rainier, not drier. Remember the August 2021 flood in Waverly Tenn.? Scientists didn't even think a thunderstorm with that much rain is possible until it happened. The more the Gulf of Mexico heats up, the more rain will condense downwind of it. We're in the firing line.
It seems to be the new norm. In MA we have a tornado warning with just about every thunderstorm. An EF0 did damage in a nearby town last week. The lightning is much more frequent. I believe we are now close to 20" of rain for just this month. Not good.
Not fun. That's all I have to say. Power has been knocked out here several times this year and all the utilities are underground. Not looking forward to spending money on a genny now.
