Last semester I got a 63% on my final math grade. I was never put in extra learning help, I was never told to re do anything. I'm going to next grade without summer school or anything to do again. How does this make you feel?
Jealous.
Although In Korea, that's because it's a be at the top or die society, where the 90% that don't have rich parents or innate gifts are screwed over and the 8% become rich.
That sucks. Here, more people focus on getting rich by business or the "highschool dropout become millionare" approach. It doesn't work most of the time. There aren't many forces with getting good grades here, except for some Asian cultures.
I did 2 hours or so of revision + studying for each of my exams last year, which my teachers said was tougher than their university exams. I passed everything and got into university. I don't know if Canada is any similar but don't sweat it and just find something that works for you and keeps your stress low.
