One of the buttons in the text editor has the "media" caption. Click it and paste the link, and it should load. :) If on mobile, type [media=youtube]putthe"original"partoftheyoutubelinkhere,IIRCjustthepartafter?watch/[/media]. :)
Thanks Tom! Yeah I realised immediately after posting the status that I wasn't using the desktop version of EMC forums, so I wasn't seeing the options for embedding videos above the post creation window. Thank you!!
Good tidbit too, and you all can correct me if I'm mistaken, but last time I tried it the mobile youtube links weren't playing as nice as the desktop ones. So I suggest steering clear of them if you're wanting to share a video on the forums.
If you add the video via the manual [media] way, mobile versus desktop doesn't make a difference, because you only use the part of the URL that doesn't change. :) For putting them in via the menu, I don't know if using a mobile link makes a difference, but as you're using the menu, the chance is high that you're on a desktop anyways, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. :)
