I've read all the books, but only watched the first one or two movies... Was 9ish back then, though. :P Should probably read everything again, at some point... :D And possibly watch the movies. :P
The books contain some of the worst writing that got popular I've ever read and J.K Rowling's continued additions to the franchise are a desperate attempt to keep herself relevant while spoiling the world she made two decades ago. The movies are decent watches tho you should definitely hit the rest of those up
The English version contains a lot of poor sentence structure. She makes a lot of sentences needlessly complicated which can mentally wind you - you can cut a bunch of words out of her sentences and have them say the same thing but shorter and more effectively. She's constantly switching between tenses and that is a big no no.
Also she doesn't connect plotlines to eachother. It's hard to explain without spoiling, but there's many times where it's just painfully clear all this has developed as she wrote. She moves past events at a breakneck pace and some major ones vanish into thin air as if they never happened.
And there's A TON of "he exclaimed," "he shouted," "he whispered." The key to writing dialogue is that shouting, whispering, talking normally are all conveyed by the dialogue and not told to the reader. Punctuation exists and she even had italics and bold writing at her disposal if she really wants to get creative.
I see. To get what you mean, I guess I will have to see for myself! In my opinion though, a lot of books are like that. Maybe she was just having fun writing the books, not intending to be famous or anything.
Well, idk lol
