Paper straws. :)

Silly silly Otus, the new straws can actually be eaten now.

paper straws? heh, don't those just get super soggy? I'll take the fine if the law comes to canada

paper straws (they get soggy after a few hours of use), personal bamboo straws or metal straws, or just using a cup like it's supposed to be used lol you're killing fish by using plastic stuff

You'll be pleased to know that the entire Commonwealth (the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, etc.) agreed to ban them earlier this year. They'll just replace them with paper/bamboo/metal straws lol, it's an immensely low price to pay to save wildlife and protect the environment from the scourge that is single use plastic.

I used a paper straw this last weekend at a restaurant (it was served to me without asking). It held well - referring to sogginess. But I am not a fan of the paper taste which is inevitable with sucking on paper.
After I started tasting the paper, I took the straw out, and just drank my drank with no straw.

I guess the intention is good, but getting fines or jail time for violating plastic straw laws is a bit much... It's literally just a straw,
