2) The work you turn in will generally be of higher quality since you started early. More time to think on and tinker with it and you have more time to get help if you need it. Last second starters benefit from none of this and typically turn in shoddy work as a result.
As someone who graded papers for two years it was really easy to tell who started an assignment when it came out versus those who waited till the night before.
This is all for day to day work (like math homework due the next day). If you got a long term project, make a schedule and stick to it like glue. You'll benefit from the above if you do.
And I get it. You hate math (or english or whatever subject it may be) and probably want nothing to do with the homework assignment that was given to you. I don't blame ya cause I'm like that for a few subjects. But if it's out the way early, that means more time for you to do fun things. Minecraft, netflix, read, what have you.
Thank you elfin, this was helpful, and I'm hoping to make changes to when I start HS. In grade 7 and 8 I slacked off so much and was super behind, hopefully I can change that. I notice that the more I put stuff on hold, the more I get anxious and stressed
I HIGHLY recommend a desktop app called Cold Turkey. You can block specific websites and app using it and it's almost impossible to circumvent. This might be a paid feature, but you can block out times of the week using the calendar as well as using timers. I use it whenever I have big projects due or exams
I think you just need to say, I'M FINISHING THIS NOW AND I WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL THIS IS DONE and then imagine something really bad will happen if you do otherwise. You can imagine that your crush will never like you if you procrastinate...?
And then when you're done it will make the fun things more fun... And I'm procrastinating on chores right now so Imma goo...
