How have you not known? Indeed, and I plan on going to a competition within the month :)

    Nice!
I'm sorry, if we ever talked about it, I must've forgot. :P
I did suppose so from the post in the pup naming thread, though.
Did you ever read the story I wrote in Latin last summer? I mean, it's probably not great Latin when comparing to classical writings, but I think it's pretty good. :P

I also had to make up some words. ;) But I translated the story into English and Dutch also, so you could check the meaning there, if you can't figure it out.

Nope, didn't see it. But yeah, haha, Latin interests me. I'm slow at on-the-spot translating but if you give me time to work through, I'm fine. I get the concepts but I am just slow.

Same. :) Well, I wouldn't say I'm slow, when compared to other people who haven't studied Latin beyond secondary education... :P but I can't read it like I can read English, Dutch or Frisian. My vocabulary also isn't too vast, so I'll need a dictionary. :)

Yo, 607- I've seen a signature flying around- think it's you- that has Latin, haven't had the time to pause and figure it out- what does it translate to?

It's in TheBidule's signature, and it says "Compastules! Vivitis vitam inutilem. Coalescite mecum!". It's actually a paraphrase of a line in Operatio Ovis, the story I posted the thread for.

In the original story, it goes as follows: "Iovanus 'Compastules!' locutus est, 'vivitis vitam inutilem.
    Coalescite cum nobis!'"
Which, in the English version, I translated to: "'Fellow meadowmen!', said Yovan, 'you are living a useless life.
    Unite with us!'"

'Compastules' is a word I made up myself, and it's a translation of the Dutch word 'Weilandgenoten' Jovan (a friend of mine) made up to address the sheep in our meadows. :)
