Our main road is to a hospital so it's always the first plowed, which is really cool and convenient.

It would be. One of my three main roads is an arterial highway so it's high priority. It just seems like the county didn't do much, unlike the cities and state (however, my dad, who works for the electrical company, said the roads in the other end in the county do get plowed more often because they can be steep).

I do live near a medium-sized city, but still in the rural outskirts of the county.

Ah - That's annoying... I'm in a relatively flat area... Neat!

Large hills in the county's west end, small mountains and a plateau on the east end, and the central region where three of the four towns/cities (including the medium-sized urban one) are. It is, however, near the edge of a relatively flat basin which is dozens of miles across (that's where the creeks and rivers here run into).

lol, here in the Netherlands they even clear the cycling paths from ice and snow. :D

Wow. I could never imagine anything even close.
