Just to be clear, this is in light of EA's most recent blunder, in which they have made it so that you need to play for 40 hours to unlock a character in Star Wars Battlefront 2. This will take you somewhere close to around 500 hours to unlock the entire character roster, I think. They've given you the option to pay real money to skip this, though - and it's far easier to use this method.
Their reasoning, given in what is now the most downvoted post to be ever made on Reddit at over -300,000 points (previous record was only like, -20,000), was that they want players to 'feel rewarded' and 'accomplished' when they unlock a character. Nobody is going to play for 500 hours to unlock every single character. Their real motive is the money they make off paying to unlock it.
My joke is that no other industry has to put up with this BS. You don't pick up a book and have to pay an extra £6 on what you've already paid to make it readable. You don't pay £12 for a cinema ticket but need to add on an extra £12 to see the full movie. The reward for reading the book would be the ending to the story, when in actuality, it'd just be me trying to milk an e-book to death and stealing money.
Even knowing the EA reference, almost sounds like you're trying to re-write Jane Eyre to me. *shudders* The world can't isn't ready for a second one...
Jane Eyre is one of those books that everyone seems to love but I hate. Like Harry Potter (great story, J.K Rowling just has embarrassingly awful prose).
