have you tryed turning it off an on again i mean the computer?

When I start my minecraft there is always in no sound... :o but perhaps that's because I've turned my sound (apart from note blocks) off... :P

Did you put the Master Volume off?

thanks guys, but it's really a MC glitch. The whole thing sometimes doesn't even show up in my volume control. I managed to tone it down by using the shipped (old) Java version but sometimes... I can start the game 3 times without sound, SO annoying :(

You need to reload your resource pack 99% of the time this happens

Resource pack won't cut it. The sound aspect is on an OS level; when I have the mixer open I see MC not even registering itself. Seems to be related to the Java version I think. Anyway; so far so good (used older Java, the one shipped with the launcher).

Nah nah nah, minecraft a sound engine is pulled from the resource pack. Force loading the resources always fixes my sound engine.
