The water they're using in the pools is contaminated with God knows what (there was even a dead body floating in the bay where they draw water from), Brazil doesn't have the infrastructure to host the Olympics, they don't have very much ready in time, the country is in deep recession, the health crisis there, and the political crisis also.
I don't approve of your choice of wording but I do agree with you. There's a good reason why the torch bearer got attacked in nearly every city he went through. All the money spend on this would have been so much better spend on improvements for the Brazilian people IMO.
