hmm ;) I couldn't help wonder: if he had to tell an previously unspoken truth to pause the attacker, then how could it have worked the 2nd and other times? :)
I think I know how it worked. It's a different version of the Doctor every "save file," and the beast looks for something he hasn't confessed before. Since the newer doctors haven't technically confessed it, I guess it was accepted.
That sounds plausible enough. A bit stretching but yah.. Ok: another one (I honestly only had 2 things): dug out holes got reset, dropped flowers put back, yet the bird word gets left alone. That was also something I couldn't place here.
