  1. Does it have to be G-mail? Ok.

  2. I am not 100% on this but I think full access needs a gmail. I can try others too but some features might not work then.

  3. I made a logo for the LLOSA myself... It turned out great!

Now it's time to ship in wool for the Saturn!

  4. *West Gate Bridge*
So this is yet another nagging post about connecting the west.
I talked to shavingfoam a bit and we came up with a nice idea for a west line that would be
as nice as rob's station we were expecting.
We will make a nice big bridge from the west to the center and then go underground from there to not ruin the view of the jungle residents (like the old "nether line" did).
I am currentl working on making the first pieces of the bridge starting in the west. This will be a massive project as the bridge will probably be 8 blocks wide.
    fencing:sidewalk:rail:deco:deco:rail:siderwalk:fencing

with additional places for support columns etc.
maybe it can look a bit like this image of a weird bridge I found which is supposed to be located somewhere in the us ;)

(but made out of stone, stonebrick and maybe some other stuff)

    What will be to do?
Once we decided on a final template we will need some workers with resources (probably stone and stonebrick for the overground part and *???*** for the underground parts.
I am currently trying to get a template (or at least a place to propose templates) at the south east end of the western platform. Would be easy to spot on the live map.
  5. Maybe the blue line would run on this bridge? Also I am going to begin constructions soon of a building similar to this building in the city in which I live. I just need a place preferably in the desert. Possible in west.

  6. I have a few griefings to report. Firstly the Ender Nightclub has been struck and the entrance way and a few blocks have been damaged. Also all the glowstone on Jungle lanes bridge has been removed. I don't have the supplies atm to fix these so if someone else could that would be awesome!

  7. One of the Umbrella Corp guys ran into your place tonight while exploring. It's a nice idea! Best of luck with the village! :D

Zulu: we have tons and tons of smooth stone that can be make into stone brick...let me know if you need a donation for the bridge!

  8. I can work on the support columns and make them look like the ones in the picture. I was thinking of using brick. I have about 2 stacks, but will probably need much more. I want to do the suspension wires too, maybe using smooth stone.

I was thinking of using cobblestone or stone slabs for the sidewalk so that it's a little higher than the rails (like when you walk on a sidewalk in real life, it's higher than the road). But you can't put fencing or iron bars on slabs because it'll look like they're hovering in mid-air. Maybe the fencing could go on a regular block. I think a double stone slab block would look good.

Zulu it's the Golden Gate Bridge... :D

Can we extend the bridge all the way to land instead of stopping at rob's platform? I think that would look better.

  9. indgomom do you have any brick (the kind you make with clay)?

  10. Brick would look great but might be to valuable on this scale. Hard to obtain and probably a big griefer bait.
If anyone or a group of people have enough brick and are willing to repair of course this would be great.

Yes. Having the sidewalk a half-block higher than the rails looks nice I think. I will try some things out at the construction site later.

    I know :D
Hmm. You might be right. I setup some furnaces etc at the platform end for now but we can extend in that direction after we got to the other side.

  11. Where will the bridge start on the jungle side? I would love to help out!

  12. You can kinda see it on the map. I think we should go underground at the other side of the bay. There is a small hill belonging to the mountain biome that has no build on it. I think this could be a nice place for the up/down hub.

I think it looks neat. The ones in the middle can be replaced with other decorative stuff like flowers etc sometimes.

I think I like this one the most. Reminds me of some bridges in my area
  16. bridgemap.png

I layed out the bridge as shown in the last shot. With dobule iron bars as fencing with columns of double stone slabs and a torch.
Marked here is the location of the future over/underground transition (red X) and final location of the bridge west end (yellow X). I will begin building towards the yellow X today but leave the design and implementation of the transition (and rest of the line) to the LLO railway crew.

  18. The LLO Transit map has been updated (it's getting quite big!). Changes include:
    • + New extensions and entrances to the Level 9 Rail System.
    • + Added the extension line that connects the Community Tree Farm with the Obsidian Line.
    • + Added the new West Gate Bridge rail line (under construction).
    • + Added an underground line that connects Grand Central to a floating island in the West Bay.
    • + Added Blue Line station at Grand Central.
    • + Added the new merging of the stations at the north-end of the Red Line.
    • - Removed the old West Station line.
    • Made the Obsidian Line dark purple.

  19. Here are some photos I took along the way:

Some views of the LLO Condos building. It's really creepy inside...

Really nice bridge on the Obsidian Line.

The north end of the Red Line has merged with the line that goes into the central jungle.

Dwight added a cool little smooth stone gen onto his obsidian gen. :)

There's an epic new entrance to the Level 9 Rail System. It has very impressive a 3-way rail junction at the bottom. The entrance is located at the station in the central jungle.

  20. Wow. This map is epic. Do you have it in a high-res / printable version? A friend of me wants to go to minecon and asked for some LLO stuff he could bring. A big poster of the map would be epic.

    Other news:
The bridge now goes to the yellow X from my last image (=all the way to the west end of the platform).
It is fully layed out with rails and ready to be connected on both sides. Also I think the design leaves room to build columns and suspensions etc around / above it.

    Other other news:
We had some creeper accidents and it looks they do more blast damage too with 1.3. I met one guy at the western treefarm and the hole was huge. I fixed it with cobble as I did not have any wood with me at the time (will fix later). Other members / visitors reported creepers in the desert village and other places too. I tried to refill some of the creeper safety foundation torch chests so feel free to help protect you and your neighbors with some lights.
