Community Quest for Exclusive Promos The goal of this is to bring players to work together towards a goal. After the community completes the task as a whole, those who participated get an exclusive reward. This type of incentive has been seen in other games, and I personally enjoy them. Examples of possible Quest kill 10,000 bats in October as a community. Kill 1 million creepers this month as a community Place 500,000 Logs as a community Examples of Rewards Bat egg promo named Dracula Possible dual promo release: Just Custom name via /promo for everyone Elite version of Community quest has a different color, or effect such as Glowing Effect Creeper Head named Booooom Stone Axe Custom named ‘Tree Specialist’ New Item: Item Ticket* rewards aren’t meant to be long term OP items, but simply something to look forward to for the community effort. Edit: Wanted to add that usually, you can still contribute after reaching the goal. The counter would just be 11k out of 10k. This allows players to participate within a set timeframe, rather than a random deadline based on players who grinded the most. *Tangential Idea - Item Ticket: This would allow purchase of previous event items (events released by the build team) - suggesting this so that newer players can reliably acquire Eye of Horus, arguably the best promo. It can have a different lore to differentiate from originals. it can also have time limit (like it is only available to be used for 30 days) Tokens + ticket = old item
I like your ideas. I would add a suggestion of a minimum number of players need to join before the quest starts and that no alts can be used. It would be nice if farms were excluded from mob kill count. It would a sight to see many players running in groups through the wasteland in search of creepers to kill. I spend 70% of active game time in the wasteland and I haven't come across a single player there for a wicked long time, except for Blockhead helping me gather sand.
If the quest was something like "kill X number of creepers in the wasteland" it would largely solve the farm issue. Or at least eliminate already built farms and limit it to ones quickly constructed for this
