I have many fond memories of playing on this server, which I used to do in my mid teens. Now, time has a way of changing things, having people move on from even their most cherished moments and hobbies. I turned 18 and went off to college, like anyone would.

So while I am in the new player forums, this does not mean that I am "new," per se. My old account was named nosnhojhtiek, a backwards spelling of a close family member. I last played as him when I was around 16.

I was known mainly for my content in the forums; utilizing my writing skills to impress people. I recall writing a sort of poem about this community that got recognized by one of the community leaders, in a way.

But that was four years ago, and now I am twenty. I recently subscribed to gamepass, acquired a copy of minecraft, and decided to use it for the purpose of nostalgia. So, I walked through the tutorial maze, and here I am, re-introducing myself.

In other words, I would like to come back to the empire after a long hiatus.

But there are things I would like to know, first.
Are Aikar and Krysyy still in charge?
How has the server changed and what stayed the same?

You'll notice the community isn't as large as it used to be, but it's still here.

Aikar is still the owner, and he does a lot of stuff in the background. I believe he's the lead developer for PaperMC... so he's pretty busy... "silent but deadly" is what we've been saying.

Welcome back! Would you be interested in joining a frontier outpost (assuming we vote to allow you to apply)? It is huge and was once quite active, and I'm trying to revive it. We have multiple cities, many small villages and every pre-1.13 biome except some rare variants that were removed in 1.18 anyways, so there's a place for practically everyone!

Aikar is still the Owner, but he's very behind-the-scenes these days. Krysyy isn't a Community Manager anymore; she's still an Admin, but chickeneer said she's too busy with real life to be as active as she once was. The Lead Developer is now chickeneer, although he takes up the slack for former Community Manager duties too. Nonetheless, we were down to just two Senior Staff (ElfinPineapple and Hashhog) when I returned last year until MoreMoople got promoted late in the year. Many of the same Moderators we had years ago are still Moderators, though, and MoreMoople and TheCritic are still Developers.
