Well, this game has become infinitely more important to me. First, I'll admit this right off the bat. I'm 40 years old and I still live with my parents. They've help made me who I am today and I stay with them to try and pay them back for that. Today, I had to call the ambulance to take my mom to the hospital. My dad went with her and I stayed at home to kinda keep the rest of my family in the loop as to what was going on. Just a few minutes ago, I got a call from a family friend of ours (who was, at one point our lawyer) and he told me that she didn't make it. It hurts very much that she's gone and never coming back. I know that some of you will probably tell me to take a break from the game and grieve, but playing this game will help me cope with her passing. So, if I sound a little cross in the chat when I speak, please cut me a little bit of slack, okay? Thank you.
I have a similar need for the game lately. I am mourning my body betraying me (medical issues) and the lack of a medical diagnosis, while being bounced between specialists and then bounced again. Everyone has something to deal with. And we are all allowed our bad days, but my heartfelt thoughts and prayers for you and your family in this time of grief. This is one of those bad times we never want. (__o__) ... *gentle, virtual hug*
My condolences, Mando! I love this. It is my expectation that most people who keep living with their parents keep being cared for by them, and contribute little. It's great to consider that there's another alternative! Good luck and much strength wished with arranging the funeral.
Hey Mando, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Please reach out if you need anything. Your EMC family is here for you. <3
I actually engrossed myself into minecraft when my mother died. When my father had died years earlier I got heavily into gardening. I think the ability to escape from the reality of the sorrow if even for some short periods of time is really important. And with both minecraft and gardening the order and the performance of tasks is perfect to distract. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm glad you have something to help you get through it.
Thanks, you guys. If you got a sack full of $100 bills laying around Moople, I'll take that It's not just EMC (and Minecraft) I got for a distraction, Tucker. I also play the browser game PokeHeroes (gamer tag there is SilverWarrior, if anyone feels like harassing me there too ), Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle & State of Survival (part of the Never Give Up (NgU) alliance in State #1065 under the SilverWarrior gamer tag).
