On the fence, should I stay or should I go now?

  1. I'm not sure if this is in the right section so staff let me know if you had to move it.

Anyways as the title suggest I'm having trouble deciding if I should stay and keep working on a few projects or go to single and do the build there?

My thoughts are that my builds may be to grand or it may lag the server, but I would still like to build most of them.

Example of such a project is the Biome-Mart my plans was to have a easy way to stock item by just dumping in a water collect point that has 4 Hopper and about 8 Hopper minecarts with a block into them. Which is on top of a bubble tower that lifts
up Hopper minecarts which store items.

Then they go by either water stream or a hopper line, with opitimize in mind. The hopper line will house the classic impulse sv sorter I believe 2 or 3 hopper plus another 1or 2 hopper aswell as two double chest of items storage. Plan on leave sorter one block to apart to protect sorter from draining each other, unless opitimize need to be made. And times those amounts by every sortable item in the game of survive. So not hosile spawn eggs or any items that you can't get in survive!

Thank you again for reading and responding to this post.
  2. Stay! :):+1:

  3. Do you think my biome-mart we'll bring the sever to it's knees?

Granted I plan on try to limited the hopper item frames and anything else that can lag the sever. This is the only project that I really want to stay on the server for!

  4. Well... I can't answer that question for you (obviously) but... are you having fun? If so you should stay.

Now, it's been a while since I dove headfirst into Minecraft again (though I did play plenty of occasional singleplayer) and from your story it doesn't sound like a massively lagging contraption. Of course I could be overlooking something but... I'm sure if things get out of hand then $staff can warn you or maybe even help you optimize things.
  5. Yea like others said - you might just have to check with staff before building. If you are actually concerned that it might lag the server, maybe do it in single player but build other awesome ideas on your EMC plot. That way you don't waste all your time building a contraption and then destroying it right after. However, I'm pretty sure our staff would be willing to help with this situtation so it can work on EMC. :)
  6. Yes I am having fun.

  7. Well the whole point is to make this into a shop, but if have to I might make it into a storage rooms in single player!

  8. I may just design it on a creative world and see how lag it is!

  9. The right section would be Community Discussion, I would say. :)
How many hoppers do you need, anyway? I couldn't quite get it from your explanation.

  10. You should definitely stay buddy! There's plenty of helpers to go around each server, and then of course our awesome staff team. They will be right there at your back to help you in any way they can reasonably. Don't feel discouraged though.
To be fair, I construct all my builds I consider to be "large" in creative mode for a trial run. If I were to assume that it's causing any kind of stress on the server, then ask away! It can make all the difference, asking for help instead of having unanswered concerns. Cheers! :)

  11. Update: there supposedly 612 items in Minecraft.
    So 612 Items
    X 5 hoppers
3,060 equal this many hoper not including leaving one space between each sorter sclice.
