  1. I apologise if that's how the message was perceived. The intention is not to point out you are wrong, but to acknowledge that the areas of concern you have ARE being addressed rather than leaving this thread without any input from staff. You say that one of the problems is the current system doesn't keep players from placing blocks all over the build and I was mentioning we are aware that is a major problem and empires will resolve it. Does it solve the problem now? No. However, leaving the thread without any acknowledgement of something that caused a player to leave is just bad customer service.

The intention is providing information so that players reading this thread know both the tools available to keep it from happening to them, as well as that staff is working to make it better. You are not wrong. Staff agrees with you about the problem of griefing.
  2. I've played on this other survival server and once I was griefed on it. I reported it and a staff person came over and like rewound time. It was very cool. He somehow made it rebuild and even the animals were back in their pens. And the griefing was probably a week earlier. Could EMC do something to do that?

  3. That sounds neat, but no. The repairs done for any greifing are done manually by Senior Staff+. We don't have the ability to rollback chunks like that.

  4. I have never spoke with ya, nor met ya but this saddens me greatly! I hate to see another player leave do to something like this. I do understand how it would be frustrating having something you built deface or damaged to griefing. One reason I didn't build in the frontier at first. When block protection came out me and a friend went out, way out to start our outposts. We even went to a different smp then our town smp to begin work on our bases. We are joined by a nether rail system. Anyways, I didn't realize at first that our claimed outposts weren't actually protected. That buildmode only protected the block that I placed. We gave each other permission to break blocks.
The first thing that went wrong was (I too like to build large Redstone builds and she is great at decor) the pistons stop working if she placed a block on the pistons that I placed. This made her feel bad thinking she broke my redstone. It took me awhile to figure out what went wrong, as every time she touched anything redstone it stopped working. Now that we know what was going on we work around it. We haven't been griefed yet, and I hope we never do. But I can only think when I see this problem others are having that it's a matter of time. One reason I haven't started a thread on my builds yet is in fear that the wrong person seeing it puts their crosshairs on our outposts. I know this doesn't help your situation lauwenmark, but my heart goes out to ya! I would rather see the nice people stay and the bad leave, not the other way around. Best of luck to ya what ever you decide. :D
Sorry for any bad grammar or run on sentences.

  5. Don't worry, EMC has changed over the years, in many many ways. I'll leave it up to the reader to determine whether they are "good" or "bad" ways. I'll just say this much:

    - I do not see many people online compared to many years ago. Though, if I am online and a new player joins, I do my best to make them feel comfortable.

    - There have been a few instances where something similar to your situation has happened to a couple other players. One of them used to play on SMP1 a lot, but (I think) they have left.

    - The community has changed. The original people who have been on EMC for many many years, (some since it's early days in 2011/2012) have left. Those with knowledge how to deal with these situations are no longer here. Helpful information in-game is hard to come by as new players are not that well-educated with the rules or know how to handle specific situations, like your situation.

It's a shame that you're leaving, but you are not alone with your feelings towards your experience. There are others who can probably relate in some way or another.

Regardless of what you choose to do, please pursue whatever makes you happy and I hope you have a happy life after this! :D
