Teleport open SMP8 centre frontier spawn head north under rainbow. This Sunday I am going to host a Complete The Monument (CTM) Event for 16 teams. Each will be given an enclosed area for them to work together to, prepare yourself, complete the monument. You say complete the monument but what exactly would that involve? Each team has a display with missing blocks. These blocks need found/created and be placed in the relevant space. Once all the blocks have been filled, the monument is complete. Cool doesn't sound too hard, what's the catch? You are in a race against other teams. First to complete their monument wins. If no one competes their monument before the two hour time limit then the team with the most monument blocks placed wins with ties settled by the first to place the last block. What are the blocks needed? There are 15 blocks ranging from Dirt to Endstone, from Quartz Block to Cake. Where does this take place? SMP8 Frontier. I will set up a teleport at the time. When does this take place? Sunday 05/05/19 (05/05/19 for those in the us who write the date wrong) at Noon 3PM EMC time. How long will it last? The event will last a maximum of 2 hours but would be best add on some time for unexpected delays. Are there any rules? Yes, come with nothing. You will need to start by punching trees. Each time you add a block state in local chat that you have added a block. You don't need to say which block you added or how many you have added but saying so may panic your opponents. This calling out once you have placed the block will be used to determine winners in event of a draw so NO LYING No Nether Portal. Everything you need is in your enclosed area. No Enderchests. You shouldn't be able to fight an enderman but due to their teleportation I can't 100% ensure none will appear. Teams can be any size but only the leader will obtain the prize. Any agreement is between the players only. Any dispute will not involve staff. What is the prize? One BigDavie head. How do I sign up? Reply to this thread stating you want a team. You will be given a team, first come first served. Once all 16 are assigned player will need to ask Leaders for a place on their team. Leaders can request to me via PM to add a player to their team or appoint a new leader. Can we have a team name? Yeah, team names are not necessary but having a good team name will inspire your team mates. Leaders PM me your team names, I will obviously reject any that I find inappropriate. Can I spectate? Due to the size of the area it is impractical to spectate. You are welcome to come along and cheer on your chosen team (in local chat) but you will not see much. Hmm... with all due respect here but I can't help but notice that the prize seems a bit lackluster. No offense intended but this seems like an event you can't really do alone (you did mention teams) but then you put up a reward which is basically only interesting for the team leader. How do you split a head? I suppose I could come up with ways for that but that's not exactly PG friendly (ok, ok, bad pun). Surely we can do better than that? Now, I'm not just posting to criticize of course. Nah, this leads up the question: are prize donations a thing? Because I say again: if you're going to have teams you should also have prizes which can appeal to teams. That's a good way to build a team spirit long before you even have a team yourself In my opinion of course.

Due to the number of players mentioning that the timing is not convenient I have decided to move it to later on Sunday. Instead of noon it will be 3PM emc time. I have conferred with those already signed up (with one non-responsive) who have agreed with the change.
