Hello I am new to EMC! I have been looking for a server to play on that I like and s far EMC seems to be the one I like the most! You probably won't find any impressive builds from me, but I do really like mining.. I also like adventuring around and exploring. Trust me, my buildings all look like crap!
Welcome to EMC Kif_! EMC is truly the best out there. Good luck, and let me know if you need anything! PS-All you really need is a shack
Hoi Kif! Welcome to the Empire, hope you're going to enjoy yourself. I'm happy that you already found your way to the forums (or EMC 2.0 as I often call it) because it can really help improve on your play. (for example: trying to sell items while you're not online, like doing an auction, or just having fun like now) I'm happy to hear that! (but of course I'm biased ). Yeah, if you like the vanilla parts of Minecraft (like you already mentioned: exploration and mining for example) then EMC can really provide. I've been playing here for 2+ years now and I'm still not bored with it. Watch out for Momentus and Marlix! And while you're at it... Well, if you like Nether dwelling then you really need to be careful for the netherhound packs. It's not vanilla (and can be turned off if you don't like it, look into the /ps command) but it can really spice up your game (and get you good rewards too!). And this is exactly why I'm such a huge fan of the Empire. You may have seen the motto in the tutorial already: EMC is all about "Play your way". Trust me, bias put aside here, that is no marketing phrase. It's also why I love playing on the Empire server so much. When I started playing on EMC the best I could do was basically copying a design for my house from one which I had build a few weeks back (long story) and I haven't really build much in between. My second residence has a bit of a stable / patio / farm thingie but I'm not super proud of it (and it's still work in progress) and that's basically all I've really build so far. Oh: and a giant bookshelf but that wasn't originally my idea Even so, that didn't stop me from having lots of fun over here One thing to note: EMC is a US server so it is possible that there a little less players around these times than later on (it's basically morning "EMC time" at the time of writing). But there are still plenty of other players around! Trust me: Practice makes perfect Maybe this can be interesting for you... A friend of mine (Hoi Jelle!) created a build guide some time ago and I think it is really good! Definitely helped me to think about some things on how to build and design. Maybe fun to read? But yeah, your buildings may not be the best now, but once you hang out with some friends who may be better at building (or maybe they can also help you build) you'll never know And before I forget: be sure to ask if you got problems, there are plenty of players perfectly happy to try and help you out getting started!
Thanks for the warm welcome! ShelLuser, I'm actually up in Canada! Ontario, pretty close to Ottawa I get a relly good connection to the EMC servers, unlike some other servers I tried where the lag was so bad that it was near unplayable! I've been playing minecraft for several years, but lately have just gotten a little bored of playing on my own. I have been part of some impressive buils with my friends. However even then I was always more involved with landscaping / mining. This was years ago though, so its been that long since I have run/played on a server. I really am liking the "play your own way" style that EMC has, as just about every other server I have joined has a certain playstyle and you're then forced into using it! I also like the maps feature, as I use Dynmap myself on my own home minecraft server. I also like that there is no PVP unless you want it! I signed into one server and someine almost instantly attacked!
Welcome to EMC Kif People are friendly and helpful here as you can see from Shell's post. If you ever need anything just ask. As far as I am concerned this is the BEST server to play on. It's play your way. No one will judge you on your builds. This is all about having fun and coming together as a community. Btw what SMP are you on? Shell, Dubb and I are all on SMP2. If you ever have any issues you can come get anyone of us or others there as well.
I was assigned to SMP8 when I first connected, so that's where I am now. I'm off in the wastelands, just about to set up a diamond mine
You're doomed Naaah, just kidding! SMP8 is, uhm, "special" It's a very friendly and welcoming server, many of my friends live there and it's really an awesome place. However, you may need to be careful around flying fish, because if one hits you you're married. Also be careful around trees and don't chop just any of them down because some players could be married to them as well From what I know a divorce hasn't been invented yet, but my friend Aya once started carrying cacti parts with her (don't ask... it's what I always do and that seems the safest). If you now think I'm getting a bit weird here... Just read SMP8, You worry me from Kephras btw: Congrats on going Iron already! Normally done in-game, but this works just fine as well PS: Definitely check out /wild n when you got a chance. The PWU (or Public Wild Utilities). It has basically every farm you might want, and can really help you get your hands on some good stuff.
Welcome to EMC! It is a great place to call your MC online home for sure. As Shell noted check out the /ps options so you can make the game easier/harder as you want. This may change over time and based on what you are doing. Once you have maxed out diamond gear maybe running around at 6-8 isn't a bad idea for better drops but when you are just out gathering resources dropping it to 1 can make life a bit easier. If you are ever on smp1, don't forget to say hey!
I am finding that keeping it at 3 while out gathering resources seems to be challenging enough but not too difficult, nor too easy
Welkome to the empire mincraft I see shelly alredey linked my build guides, but, still, if you're in need of any build tips, feel free to ask, also, if you're got any questions over all, feel free to ask (as About everyone said so far...) Hope you enjoy your stay
Excellent, you can join my Builders of Nothing Empire! We build nothing of any artistic value. (I should make this a thing) Welcome to EMC!
