What's the most disgusting thing that ever happened to you?

  1. Yum Yum :p
  2. My time as a cop, I saw and lived through a lot of gross/disgusting/nasty and generally disturbing situations. Most of them I can't or won't share on here...too messed up & for sure not "family friendly". :(
I'll say this, body fluids are common place, and they'll usually be put on you in some manner. Most cops develop kind of a warped sense of humor and things most people would find vile, they will likely find funny in a warped sense. It helps keep the seriousness of the job from becoming too much.

Let's see, um...most of my disgusting situations involve injuring myself in some way.

Breaking my femur (thigh bone) in a car accident and seeing the lump sticking out of my thigh was pretty nasty. The bone didn't break the skin but I had a huge lump in the middle of my quad where it was trying to. Luckily my quad held everything in and tore right before my surgery, so I didn't have to see anything too gross that time. Looking at my leg after surgery was kind of gross. 75 staples and numerous stitches dotted the side of my leg and they pulled each time I moved. They wanted me walking the next day & let me tell you, that was brutal.

After the same accident, I had some glass, like a 2" x 3" chunk, sticking out of my chin. Got to the ER and sat there without meds while they pulled it out, cleaned the wound, and stitched me up. 12 stitches to close that beast up. OUCH and EEWWW.

One time I was helping my father-in-law move a couch. My brother-in-law opened the recliner as we were going through the door & my elbow got pinched between the door jam and the couch. It made a strange popping noise and once we got the couch settled, I decided to have a look at it. From my elbow to my wrist was black, blue and purple, oddly shaped and swollen like crazy. It looked nasty and was bent at an awkward position. Ended up in the ER, x-rays were negative but wound up diagnosed with something called compartment syndrome. Cuts were made, oozing happened and I got to wear this big bulky brace for a few months. Pretty nasty injury.

I've got a lot more, mainly because I hurt myself a lot and most of the time it's pretty gross and painful. Hopefully didn't get too graphic or disturbing.
