  1. So here are my ways to maximize effectiveness of GRIP and avoid scammers:
    Beacon Registration-
Each beacon that an outpost has must be registered in either the form of screenshots, or a member of the GRIP team goes out and verifies it.
This idea that I have may be a bit shaky with the travel times, though.
So, to be able to get reimbursed for the damages, they must have a member of GRIP come out and verify the structures that they have built at the outpost.-
This prevents the people at an outpost partially completing a structure, and then they run out of materials, so they make it look like the building was griefed, and then file a report saying that they were griefed.

These ideas will help ration the donated materials and make sure that the griefing was legitimate, and not a hoax.

  2. Our storage is starting to take shape. We already have a 'wood section' and a 'stone section'. The reason we're using stone bricks and sand stone is because both AyanamiKun and myself have plenty of that in our storages. The item frames were donated by Blinkybinky (you have no idea (or maybe you do) how much that has helped us out!) and as you can see it's really turning into a solid storage.

GRIP welcomes ChamelonNYC into its ranks

I'd like to rant about why and how and all of a sudden it starts to make (more) sense to me why EMC doesn't disclose the conclusion to their staff applications. So instead I will share that Chamelon impressed us both in public as well as in private talk and is therefor now a member of the team.

Trust me on this: it won't be easy in these early hours because at this time it's pretty chaotic.

  3. This sounds quite interesting. I will see what I can do donation-wise when I get on tomorrow at around 5:00 PM, EMC time. ;) Overall, I find it to be a very interesting, unique organization. Always room for improvement, but I find this to definitely be a good idea. As a person with experience in the general area of griefing, this sounds like a wonderful way to help out those that are damaged by the terrors of griefers. I'll see if I can drop some materials/rupees your way tomorrow afternoon. :)

  5. And this is how people lose sleep. Good night to you kind sir indeed ;)

Yeah; we have a 2DC buffer behind the donation chest which should help. The chest is a trapped chest so hoppers will only start to work when you closed the lid (to help players fix any possible mistakes).

But anything above 1DC is probably best discussed first.

And may I seize the moment by thanking you very dearly for this?

  6. The only thing that will resolve this issue is players having the ability to claim land and protect their beases in the wild. What you want to do is nothing new, just how you want to do it, all the best with it.
  7. This is funny, because I have actually had this idea for a while and was getting ready to base myself in Carthaga aye Kaizimir ;) Lucky I've left EMC I guess :p
  8. This sounds like a great idea! I'll definitely be adding a donation soon.
  9. I'll definently donate, and when my shop opens I'll likely be able to donate more.

I also have a suggestion, maybe you could try and use the " @ " tags as a way of teleporting to the facility?

    Ex:

Player X gets griefed, and provides information and proof as required.

You PM Player X and offer to replace the stolen items, and they take you up on the offer.

You tell them to go to your res, but type in example@grief to go directly to the storage facility.

This allows security because you could not only "ban" people from your res but change the @ tag as much as you'd like.
  10. I'm proud to announce that we're somewhat in business as of right now.

The storage facility is more or less complete. It has room for most common blocks: a wood section, clay section, wool section and even a redstone section. It's probably not perfect, I already discovered some block types which had no direct place, but I do hope that this is a good way for us to start our business. We can already refund a decent amount of blocks.

The GRIP treasury, this section has limited access because of the collection of more valuable blocks. Even so: I am proud to say that at this time GRIP can, and will, even refund a beacon. We have some in storage (and yes; if the time comes then even our item frames are not sacred: the players come first!).

We have received several applications and that's what we'll be concentrating on now: setting up a rough organizational hierarchy, discussing how to best operate the storage and of course: at all times keeping our eyes open for players who have been griefed.
  11. ShelLuser, I have a large shop (7 stores) on smp5 and can donate items and replenish items. Just post a list of items still needed or desired.
