Yes the Utopia Town has almost 500 120x120 lots. It is the same size as a normal Town just the lots are bigger

I am super excited to see the Utopia town tomorrow night! I had to come home... I was feeling more lonely hanging out with someone in real life than I do when I stay home and follow my own method of coping. I will be back in the Empire sometime in the near future. I must call my wife and speak with her, it has been 3 days of sporadic conversation and she is going just a bit crazier than me...
A quick question regarding the 120x120 Residential Justin. Is it possible to give out the build permission to non-Diamond supporters and regular members? If so would it be a possibility to change it that only Diamond supporters can receive the permissions/flags on the other 120x120 Residentials. I can imagine that this can cause arguments and such if a regular member was able to 'build' on one of the 120x120 Residentials. I would only think it was fair if you was to block the use of the build permission to Regualr Members and Non-Diamond Supporters.
The residences work the same in Utopia as they do in any other Town, just they are much bigger and only Diamonds can claim one (even if it is their second). At first I was going to make it so only Diamonds could have build permissions, but then I got thinking about it. A lot of supporters hire "help" all of the time, sometimes the are other supporters and sometimes they are free players. There are other cases where a Diamond supporter might want to set a negative flag (it is still a flag) such as not letting a free player into their res (move false). And yet another example is if a Diamond supporter built a big place and wanted to give every "use" to push buttons and such. I am also in the process of broadening the residence system to support more things like making a single button or door public, or giving access to just one chest to certain people etc. So now I believe that if we limited flags (permissions) on the properties to only Diamond supporters all it would really be doing is limiting the possibilities they have with their Utopia lots. It would be making them less feature-full and power-full than smp lots. What do you guys think?
This makes much more sense to me. I honestly had never put thought into this at all... Very well explained and thought out. I also like the idea of more specific controls for items on the lot. Hope this gets implemented flawlessly in the future.
It's a tricky one to think about. At one hand you have the creativity of people using things But on the other you have to think about people who would 'rent out' a Utopia Residential. I could make a deal with a member of 200r a day for them to build on my Residential, would the Empire want this?
The only thing I am concerned about, in regards to Utopia, as of this moment at least, is the name of the server will be Utopia1. This implies that there will be an additional Utopia in the future.. I personally feel this takes away the unique aspect of Utopia... I would prefer Utopia to be singular. If we fill it to the 500 max active Diamond Supporter Residences, I feel this is more than fair. I do not see the Empire being the home of that many Diamond Supporters at any given time, to be totally honest. I hope they prove me wrong, I would love for this server to have a monthly support value of 10K/month from a singular group of persons. I would be truly in awe. This, in addition to the prospect of our equivalent in Gold and Iron supporters would put the Empire into Business status.
Yeah the Utopia1 was just keeping in line with the naming convention I created for the multiple server framework. But I could easily change it to Utopia and I will do so before we launch, great point.
I thought that was the idea behind the 1 but I was not sure. I do a lot of psychological marketing research, and here this applies quite well.
