Wrong. You can click a name to start a /tell with them. While clicking you're also hovering over the name so it would show it.
I'm curious to know what this would look like in practice. Are we talking a floating message box of some kind (does Minecraft even have that capability?) or are we talking a new line of text that appears in chat if you hover the mouse over someone's name? Because if the latter... that seems like it would get irritating and spammy real fast. It'd need to have a substantial delay on it (5-10s) or the ability to disable it through /ps.
Honestly I'd forgotten about that. Shows how often I actually use /ps 'Course, in my defense, once you have things set as you like, there's no real reason to mess with it further... >_>
I would find this very spammy imo. Aikar already mentioned his intent on making a system that answers new players questions automatically based off of what they typed into chat. I think that will be enough, and this will just cause confusion and annoyance anytime someone rolls over a name.
Not for me, but you said it would be pointless because if you didn't like it you could just not hover over names. But if you don't like it and want to pm someone by clicking their name, you have no real good choice. Except turning the information after hovering off using /ps.
