It would take a while to post all the games that I like, but the title for my current favorite game of all time is tied between Transistor and Gone Home.
A games awesomeness shouldn't be defined by its length. Gone Home (like Transistor or Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons) is exactly as long as it needs to be.
But most of the time that logic just leads to games being padded out with stuff that doesn't need to be in there. Why would you want to ruin a good but short experience by turning it into a slightly longer, more mediocre experience that just drags on for too long? I'm not saying that all games that are long are inherently bad. I just mean that short games don't need to be frowned upon just because they are short.
Nah; Gone Home is a beautiful game. Its length definitely doesn't degrade it in any way; i'm just saying there's more length and more stuff to do in Transistor Look at Mirror's Edge; it's fairly short and the story is crap and the cutscenes were screwed up by DICE, but it's still a beautiful game. It has great graphics and a great experience. Unless you play it for combat. In which case; GET OUT.
I don't play Minecraft very much anymore. The whole game bores me to no end these days and with my increasing hate for Mojang, i'm beginning to resent ever buying it xD
Minecraft is fun, of course. I also enjoy Castle Crashers, because there's something about being able to randomly spam the controls and still do fairly well that appeals to me.
I am a deprived child, I'm been asking for games like Black Ops and Halo for years now, and the answer is always no. xD
Well, I still haven't managed to try out all the games I got from the Steam Summer sale, but my current favorites are: (Only kinda in order) Tagpro Minecraft Grand Theft Auto V Skyrim Super Smash Brothers Melee & Brawl Civilization V Battlefield 3 Far Cry 3 I might update as I play more of my new games
