software is Winamp. nothing special on hardware, just something to listen to i suppose. and not a 24/7 thing yet.
Add something Japanese to iBunk Radio! If you don't know any Japanese music..... Edit: What's the song called when the guy sings "Only when it starts to snow"?
Hey, I hate to be that guy... but the 'I have legally downloaded these songs' does not mean you can broadcast them. There are royalty fees involved. This is not me saying you have to take it down, just be aware, you are risking yourself to RIAA action (lawsuits, fines, etc..) by playing music you do not have royalty license for. I hate to be the downer.. but I feel like this is something people should know. You buying the song, does not mean it is ok to play it over the 'radio', Internet Radio included. There are alternatives... but none that are free. At some point, some where, you letting people listen to your station, means you owe them money. Just a fair warning, so you at least KNOW that you are at risk.
There is always of option of becoming a legit radio station, although it will be very time consuming, and cost some upfront money, but if you are smart about it, you can break even in no time. The cost of the royalties would be offset by ads. I am working on this part for my own station right now (aka, what is taking so long), but if you still want to do radio, I can help steer you in the right direction.
actually there are some options, for stations that want to get started... that avoid direct royalty fees. Until you have the manpower/time to handle them yourself. For example, out of sadness of bunker pulling his station down, I started one. For no reason other than I think it is cool. Live365 offers monthly fees so you can play anything you want, and they handle royalties, based off of your listener base.
We really need to fix the world's copyright law, it is controlled by the interests of corporate labels and is stifling the creative reputation of artists.
