Popular Minecraft YouTubers?

Discussion in 'Community Discussion' started by Aikar, Jan 13, 2014.

  1. I don't know... You should ask someone from mindcrack. They are very technical minecraft players. I really like etho's lab.
A lot of those people are from team crafted, which generally does pvp and mini games, as well as "hunga deens" (bajancannadian) >_>
  2. I like the idea of using amplified.. it reminds me of pre-1.8 terrain generation. Everyone made their house on the side of a cliff, because it was just cooler.

It's really sad, though, because I remember seeing a tweet by Notch that he didn't want Minecraft to become a platform for game-making. I can't help but think that he regrets leaving as the lead developer, seeing that his original vision has been slandered.
  3. And let's try to minimize the number of immature 10 year olds who scream at the computer screen (Not that I have anything explicitly against computer screen screaming immature 10 year olds) who join, OK?

  4. most of these big you tubers that are being suggested you might get a video from them then get a sudden loads of people to join but i think a lot will just join expecting to see there fav you tuber playing then notice they do not even play it was a 1 time thing and most likely leave

  6. Agreeing with Cordial (for once), paulsoaresjr seems like a perfect candidate.

To be honest, youtubers that already play EMC, and asking them to make videos about EMC doesn't make sense. Because a large bit of the EMC subscribers and viewers are EMC players.
  7. I was thinking that also...EMC isn't a 10 min thrill ride all the time. :)

EMC is also very unique, and we should be advertising that uniqueness to attract just the kind of player that wants what we offer. Lots of the most popular youtubers don't do vanilla survival, they do fast paced mini-games and crazy mods. We need youtubers who do EMC style vanilla survival stuff, because their fan base are the players who enjoy that and will come to EMC.

The only youtubers I watch are the ZipKrowd server players (all talented builders), and a few random youtubers who eventually end up part of ZipKrowd anyway.

I google certain things to learn a style of architecture I want to use, and end up following 1-2 youtubers who specialise in how to build furniture, or obtain certain effects with weird use of blocks.

Point is. They are all popular because they do 1-2 things real well, and people find those things interesting and informative. And I've seen a few EMC players who can build, such as AlexChance. We need a youtuber who can 'interview' these builders and showcase some stuff on EMC. Our strong point is that our wild doesn't reset, neither does the town res (unless it goes direlect), so we have lots of builds from up to 2 years ago. Give people something to look at and learn, get their interest, and they'll come check the server and be hooked.

    End of blurb.

PS. I am learning my way around youtube video making. I will be doing LP's and specific tutorials on things soon. But i'm not a showpony. :) I'm monotone and boring, informative, and methodical.

  9. I don't believe seeking pre-dubbed Youtubers is the way to approach advertising EMC ...

Yes Sethbling makes great command block designs and filters ... AcTennisAc makes great redstone devices ... and few other youtubers showcase their own designs ... But what does everyone else record?
Lets Plays ... they always show lets plays or their own servers.

Almost none of them know about EMC (Sadly) ... but the point is It would not be good rep and would not be good advertisement to have someone else, who doesn't even know how EMC functions or how our community works, showcase the server for us.

We have plenty of people within the community who are already excellent at making videos - wasn't that the point of having a few contests with people recording themselves?

In my honest opinion - There is two ways to go about doing this:

    1) Community Collaboration: Promote each other, and work in one big group to try and make the best video showcases you guys can - EMC knows about EMC, and we will have fun doing it. (unlike outside sources who may not know how to teleport correctly, may not know all the staff's names down-pat, or they might even joke about the server as just another server they go through and watch)

    2) LiveStream: What better way to promote a server than to have the staff show how their own server works within an online minecraft forum or fanbase of some sorts?

No offence, but asking for our opinions on something that doesn't even concern the community is kind of a let down.

  10. If you want comedy KYR Speedy Is your man
  11. Sethblimg!
He does a lot of that...
I know ALOT but don't want to list till I'm sure what I'm takeing about xD
But minecrack server has a lot of them...
  12. I am sure there are popular YouTubers that do server tours. They highlight great builds, unique features and give a shutout to the server. Something like this would be ideal, we want players to come here because it is the type of server they have been looking for. They just never knew we existed beforehand.

  14. KYR Speedy is funny. But him and his crew make too many homophobic comments to be a proper fit for EMC.
  15. hahah it's all fun and games, they're hilarious!
  16. Even with $1000, that's not going to get anywhere with a big Youtuber. That's only about £600, and last I checked Youtubers will usually want to be payed £1,200 atleast ($2000).
  17. Still one of my favorite people for GTA5 vids, but as a straight male, too many "fag" comments for me. Remember, words hurt.
  18. Players from mindcrack and hermitcraft are more likely to do it.
