Okay, so when you have the folder, it's named "minecraft" right? Change it to "minecraft.jar" And do that
Like, the minecraft folder INSIDE the bin, or the whole folder? Also, you might want to try to install forge, the same way you installed optifine.
So, this thread kinda inspired me to finally get around to installing optifine, I just downloaded magic launcher, downloaded optifine, added optifine from the magic launcher setup menu, launched the game, and it worked perfectly. EDIT: It has also doubled my fps
