Do we know if they fixed mob spawning on half blocks? I lined the route with half blocks to remove mob spawning on the route. If this is still the case, then we just need to block off the openings to the route with doors, etc.
I would love to join, just to make a little house and have some wild living, I have been around on emc for almost a year(15 more days) and I have over 250k so I wont grief. Thanks,Podkid7

Time to get out the debug screen and a chest full of torches. Make sure every block has a light level of at least 8 (bl:8+ in the debug screen). Keep in mind creepers will do more damage. If they kill you, some or all of your equipment and inventory will be destroyed. I also recommend always keeping a bow and a stack of arrows on hand, as it will be very painful to close with creepers, skeletons and witches to kill them with a sword (not that there could be any witch huts the LLO). Keep in mind that aggresive mobs cannot spawn on slabs, glass blocks or leaves. I recommend the building of a path from the main LLO nether portal to a nearby lava pool so that we can use lave for smelting and save our coal for torches. As much as I dislike the look of jackolanterns they are an excellent light source and I recommend their use. They can be planted in the ground so that only their tops give off light. I do not recommend the use of glowstone as it is often stolen.
If you hit up the treefarm, charcoal is pretty much an infinite resource, so lava isn't quite as needed for smelting. If you do use lava, please keep it in a locked chest.

If people are lighting up the LLO, I greatly encourage people to use this mod (http://empireminecraft.com/threads/mod-request-monster-spawn-highligher-approved-unsupported.19130/) It works great, and makes lighting up places one nether of a lot easier.
I've been running around the llo with that mod some time ago. I used up 6 stacks of torches in no time, and even then there was way too much still unlightened.
I have put down 4 stacks of torches. Still much more to do. I have 8 stacks left. Remember to torch up your roofs, or cover them with slabs.
Yeah well, if anyone has coal or charcoal to donate to the cause, I will be working on this for some time to come. All fuel donated will be used to make torches. Any leftover torches will be placed in torch chests around the LLO. Oh, and while I am at it, I am looking for clay, clay blocks, bricks or brick blocks. I am revamping the Foyer of the Theatre and replacing the netherrack with brick blocks.
