Alright guys i have decided to create an empire mine craft Lottery!!!

any website can be forged. i think a lottery is one of those things that if done, needs to be done by the staff not a player.

One of my main concerns is that people will be trying to scam you Firebox. For this to be a viable system for all, i would suggest that just prior to making the draw each week, you make note of all of the numbers the players have chosen, and publish them in a post in the forums. This way you have a written secure record that nobody but yourself can edit, and players can't change their own posts to include the winning numbers.

Another suggestion, if it would help to alleviate any player concerns about being scammed, myself or one of the other moderators might be happy to run the random number generator ourselves each week, and post a screenshot of the generated numbers to prove its validity and confirm it's randomness.

They are both suggestions of course, i just thought the ideas maybe of use to ensure the game is being run legit and isn't being influenced by any outside forces.

And shaunwhite1982 if we could get even a few people to start doing this, including a moderator such as yourself i feel would increase the number of people who would play, and make people feel like there is no way this is a scam. And i already made a file to put all numbers in, but thank you anyway! i'll use microsoft word, just like i do for my add spaces and hotels

because i just love being involved with these community projects, i will officially sponsor the results of this lottery (meaning i will use your suggested roller and screenshot it, as Shaunwhite1982 suggested). Also, I will not buy a ticket simply because, There will be no conflict of interest on my end. So now you can officially say (aside from the money transactions) that this lottery has staff involvement.

I would like this to be an empire - community thing like lottery is in real life as i feel it would be a good edition to the empire. Maybe some day it will have a good bit of people playing, and the jack-pot can grow substantially bigger

lol you need an easy pick system

Please use redstone circuit to generate number. And have other people watching. So it everyone can believe it's fair play.
And any mod that is good at redstone can go verify his circuit that it's not locked number.
Ex. Use five number gen to make 2^5 possible number. Run it 5 time.
Result will be in binary. U convert it to decimal later

or i can just screenshot a random number generator... like i already said i would.

nnnnmc1 we have a website that does the numbers randomly, and they are not participating in the lottery. they are just going to choose the numbers, that is not necessary, the site allows you to choose numbers, range, and does all the sets for you. And you cannot edit the numbers. If you can't trust an admin, who can you trust?

I already got it, i am screen-shotting all of the posts with the money, and putting them onto a file on my flash-drive. This way there is no number changing, or saying i ''changed the numbers''
and it takes like 10 seconds
And i am not responsible for finding the winner, they need to come to me and tell me i just check to make sure they're tickets are right, and they paid

no hes referring to the "easy pick" option most lotteries have. you select it, and you receive a receipt of numbers a computer picks for you. It saves time from having to pick XD

Ohhhh lol, i understand. you could just go to a site like the one we are using, and get random numbers? That could work

an easy pick system here is a system that picks the numbers for you, our state lottery you can buy a normal ticket and select all your numbers, or for a bit less you buy an ez-pick ticket and the machine picks for you so you don't have to come up with all the numbers for your ticket
