The only problem I have with this is trying to qualify it as a riddle. A riddle must have all it's elements put up front, perhaps in a deceiving manner, so that when the answer is reveled anyone can logically trace that answer to the original question thinking: "It's so obvious, how could I not see it before".

This does not fulfill that, so it was not a riddle.
