  1. I want to build a high way to the edge of the nether in the 4 cardinal directions.
I want your help emc. The highway will be built at Y:52 going all the way out to the wall of the nether. Starting on smp7.
This is what i have in mind for the highway.
    Rules:
If there is a rail in the way go around it.
Don't go into any portals found while digging / building.
    Respect peoples privacy.
Starting when emc updates to 1.16
  2. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
  3. ill help

  4. I wish you the best of luck my guy. If you manage to pull it off, I'll be sure to take a trip the entire way. Start to finish and back again. :)
  5. I don't believe there is a wall to the wilderness nether, from my understanding the neterh is infinit

  6. I would be willing to get materials for you
  7. It caps out at like a few mill it it was not walled up
  8. Never
  9. Hey ill join but resource gathering is not my thing, if i could have resources supplied i could do alot of hard work on one.
i could use my own picks and try to dig alot of one of the tunnels. BTW I'm McAwesome_09 i no longer have access to the daddydnon account in game.
  10. will you also build one on smp9?
  11. dont think that will happen XD itll take months to finsh one od the 4 cardinal directions.
  12. That is going to be a heck of a lot of blue ice.
  13. maybe not blue but packed
but blue would be TERRIBLE to collect
  14. Fun fact, you only need 1 block of blue ice per 2 blocks traveled to get max speed.
    KatydidBuild and 4moTilCRhystmas like this.
  15. oooooh thats great!
  16. 100% blue ice and it's scarcity makes it impractical, and even if it wasn't, traveling the entire length of the path at such speeds would propose issues with the server. People loading and unloading chunks in rapid succession would bring the server to it's knees, even with the powerful CPUs that it has. It's just the nature of how Minecraft is still (for the most part) single-threaded. I've used elytras on EMC and gone so fast I've caused the TPS to drop to single digits and cease the game's chunk loading. I've almost died because I've gone so fast that the game and the server is unable to keep up, due to the sheer amount of data I'm forcing it to load and unload in rapid succession.

I would say that packed ice would be a better bet, and as long as the server is not under too much of an intense load, that might be more doable and practical. :)
  17. Sounds good! Let's do blue ice!
  18. Just sharing this info with you since, I have one of my outpost at the edge of the world.

Currently the edge of EMC stands at 1.5 millions blocks. (overworld)

That translated to nether coordinates is 1,500,000/8 = 187,500

Because MC is coded weirdly, the Nether Wall is also at 1500 000, and if you set up a portal at the edge, i will push you back to the overworld edge. So, technically you only need to reach +-187,500 to reach the edge of the world.
  19. Note that this is supposed to change with the Land Claiming update.
  20. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Aikar said somewhere that the wall limit will increment every so often in updates, as he see fits.

I can see the Empires phase 2 update (land claiming) being one of those update, although I doubt it since most of the overworld is still unexplored
