Please stop the bats from taking over.

  1. Animals: 224 - Monsters: 11 - Armor Stands/Items (Not in Total): 11

In this same area, I have ~36 cows, 16 sheep, 8 tamed dogs, misc stray cats and I'm sure there are probably some sea creatures. The only thing I can figure for the other 150+ mobs is that they must be bats. Would it be possible to stop bats from spawning, change their despawn rates, or something?
  2. I've also had this issue. There are just so many dang bats!!

  4. I agree. Entity caps are being met, more often than not, just because of the abundance of caves. It's weird how the total number of naturally generating hostile mobs in caves never pushes the numbers this high, but for the bat mob alone... well, there's a ton of them... 🤔

  5. Well... even though it isn't minecraft... I have bats fly into my bedroom at least twice a year...

    Not a very fun experience.

  7. -1

We already experience TPS lag with entity farms with the current entity caps enabled. Your idea will make it worse.

I'm for limiting the number of bat entities, however. :)

  17. Ok
  18. If there's that many of them, they might still significantly contribute to lag.
Maybe it's possible to let bats despawn once the entity cap is reached? This would make it possible to get rid of bats by spawning lots of mobs, but I don't think that's an issue, as bats are rarely a factor for anyone, I assume (besides this issue, of course).
  19. Is it making you batty?
