So, the past couple days I have been playing modded minecraft. It has been something I have wanted to do for some time, but my previous computer could hardly handle vanilla so I was unable. I am currently playing "Sky Factory 4" modpack. I have not put a ton of time in it yet, but that is my progress so far. Anyone else out there playing any modded? Share your progress in the pack you are playing .
I play modded MC all the time! Even on EMC! Okay, that's a bit of a mis-statement... I don't play any versions of MC outside of EMC, using the mods I've shown above, so... I assume that this modded MC is just like normal, but with new blocks/items/etc? Or is that something else?
Haven't tried out the sky factory mod pack, looks fun though! If you haven't heard of RLcraft, take a gander at the mod pack. Literally changes MC into an RPG hellscape inhabited by mobs that seem like their only life mission is to ensure you suffer by killing you repeatably while you're trying to progress and learn how to play the modpack. (It changes the game that dramatically on all fronts, not just for mobs.)
It transforms the game into a whole new game. New blocks, items, and mobs. On a side note I stopped playing the skyfactory 4 modpack because it felt too easy to me. I decided to play Project Ozone 3 Kappa mode, which makes everything more grindy. For example in this pack one of the big changes at the start of the game is that each log can only be made into 1 plank rather than 4.
Why would you want that? I've tried modded Minecraft a few times a while ago, but didn't really get into it. I had trouble setting up my own mod packs and didn't really enjoy using existing ones. I have really enjoyed Etho's TerraFirmaCraft let's plays, though. His current TerraFirmaPunk let's play has been great.
