[SUGGESTION] Ability to block certain people from posting on your profile and/or PMing you

  1. I know this can be made a "People You Follow Only" thing. I know they can be site banned if they're truly causing tons of trouble. I also know that you can just leave any PMs they send you and delete anything they post on your profile. But that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm sure I'm not even close to the only one that could use a feature like this, but the reason I suggest it is because once, someone posting something in response to one of my statuses (which started out as something completely irrelevant) said something that made it look like they were a Nazi apologist (one of the worst types of person still around today), and I don't think I ever want someone like them posting on my profile or PMing me. And I would rather not have to just delete their profile posts and leave their PMs in case I ever encounter a person like that who just won't leave me alone without a block feature if I don't respond to them. I'm not sure if it's against the rules or not to be like that though, and even if it isn't, I'd still prefer to have a feasible way to deal with people like that.

EDIT: Until/If this gets added, I have made it so that only people who I follow can post on my profile, to negate the risk of something like this happening again.

  2. +1, though I'm somewhat convinced that some of these features are related to the Xenforo software.

Still, seems like a good idea. You can place people on ignore in-game so why not on the forums? Makes sense.

  3. I know an ignore feature is a thing built into Xenforo software by default because I've seen an ignore button (but haven't used it because I'm an MPO founder and City Hall member) on the MPO forums, which uses Xenforo and is run by two City Hall members other than myself who I'm close friends with on here.
  4. I think its only a feature on newer versions of Xenforo. EMC uses a very outdated version of it.
  5. As said above, we are on a very old version.

We would love to update the forums some day, but its a very large task due to us customizing it (namely, to integrate the supporoter system), and its just one of those backlog items, that would have to push something else behind to do.

forum update = updated forum skin = update everything across emc site that weve customized the templates for...

    it's a very large update.

for the same reasons, we also can not custom add such behavior either, so consider it a mixed of denied/maybe one day in the future.
