So, have you ever had the need to urgently talk to a team member but don’t feel like going on the forums? Also this would be helpful if you have a build or two and you want some build team members to evaluate and tell you how to improve. Pm’ng on the forums is annoying and will take too long. Most team members aren’t staff so /staff doesn’t work. This would list the online team members and what team they are on. I hope you like this idea. -Mint
Empires update should cover what I think your idea is. You just will have to wait. Edit: This should help with what you need. https://empireminecraft.com/wiki/meet-the-teams/
Are you referring to the : Build Team Stream Team Contribution Team If this is what you are suggesting, I can see how having a command that would list these participating "Team" members could prove to be quicker and handy if you need someone from those communities in a pinch. If I am reading between the lines on this, I think it could be beneficial, otherwise feel free to explain further. KnightZer0ne Tempered Outpost Founder
+1 I say that this is beneficial for those who have or need An idea for a blog post An update for the wiki Tips for builds Want to collaborate with builders Want the Hamster and friends to stream a cool event taking place Those are JUST some things that this would provide
Truthfully, not a huge fan of the idea. The Community Teams' purpose are to create official content for the Empire (in the form of the Wiki, Blog, streams, videos, and builds), not to act as personal helpers/critics of writing, buildings, etc. It is 100% awesome that many members of our teams are willing to do that at a moment's notice (I'm on the Build Team (though woefully inactive on it, my apologies) and always happy to critique), and that is a testament to the nature of our community, but in the end they ultimately signed up to create content for the server, not to be at the beck and call of the community. If you truly want to reach a Team member, private message is the way to go--I think that this prevents a good amount of ingame spamming that would occur from all numbers of players asking if this or that hastily made article/build/video is "Team quality." Just my two cents.
I don't think this is totally necessary. While it is possible that we can increase the convenience of being able to reach team members by hyperlinking a direct message link to DM each team member individually on the meet the team pages, I think that there doesn't need to be any way that we can be contacted in-game in a special way, after all, we're not really staff. While I'm not completely against your idea- I think that some members may need to contact these team members- I think that there is no need for this, especially because we don't have an in-game rank; I'm pretty much every ordinary player in-game. And of course, if you ever need anything, you can let me know and I can either take care of it myself or forward it onwards to someone who can help you out! I will have to fully agree with you on something, though. Smp5 truly is amazing.
What i mean is on the forums you have to set up times and if you can just see who is online it would save time
Why would you both have to be online? If you wanted a build team members advice on a build, just PM them with the server and res number and ask them to look at it. They can then give you advice in the PM after they look at it. As far as contribution team, all communications with them can easily be done in the forums. The same with stream team.
I understand the intent here, but this suggestion is denied in the capacity that you are asking. Team members are noted by a categorization on the forums. This does not change their status in-game. The reason why /staff works is because it looks for members with a staff rank in-game, records their smp and sends it to you. Team members are not identified in any manner in-game, as is intended. Therefore, there is nothing for the system to read. Which means it would have to be manually updated every time we add or remove a team member. The most that I could see happening is a /teams command to give you the wiki page link for the list of members.
