Windows 10-Cross platform

  1. Hey all,

I've not been very active on here in a long time but i was just wondering, does the Empire have any plans to be accessible via the Windows 10 version? i'm asking because i'd love to be able to play across platform with some of my Xbox live friends but my Gamer tag and minecraft user account would be viewed as two different users right? is there a way to merge them?

please message me if you have any insite into this topic or if you know of any future plans.

    Thanks,

    Lashing
  2. The Bedrock version of Minecraft (which powers the Console/Win 10) unfortunately runs a completely different codebase, and there is no way to become cross-compatible without recoding everything.

  3. Now, I'm not staff but I can still be very clear about this because it has been mentioned a few times in the past: there are no plans to do this. If you need proof then simply read this denied suggestion.

In short: it would be much too bothersome for the developer team. Not only would they need to find ways to "port" (= move onto another platform) all the current features to the new environment, but they would also need to maintain it. Then there's also the issue of required staff for both platforms and (generally speaking) the whole difference in communities.

If you check the poll in the mentioned suggestion then you'll see that even the EMC community isn't exactly in favor of the whole idea.

So I'm pretty sure that I can tell you that there are no plans for this.

Sorry, not going to. If you ask a question in public you'll also get a response in public. Thing is: there might be more players around with this idea so keeping this response in public could might also be helpful for them.
