Now I know this is a previously suggested idea (link) but today I'm bringing it back with a twist and a reason why it is a valid command. So first off, this would not just be unlimited use on everybody, many people don't like others seeing their rupee balance. However some of us are ok with it, and it would actually be helpful for others to be able to see our balance themself. So in /ps under misc there would be a tag called [publicbal] and then [on] [off] (default being off), this would be a setting and when it is on, a player can do /r see Sportaflop and see that I have 123,456,789 rupees. Now for the reasons while this is a valid need. I own a casino, and sometimes I go low on rupees (I blame the Remote Shop Signs). Well I don't want someone using my casino if I don't have the money to payout for all machines. I can go and activate the pistons to keep doors repeatedly closed, but I'm a forgetful person, and I don't check my rupee balance all that often. So if someone comes to a casino and there is a sign that says to do /r see and make sure that the account has enough money to payout before playing, it can limit and problems that might spring up on accusations of scamming. It would also be helpful for sell shops. Let's say EmpireMall is buying diamonds at 156r per piece. That's an awfully nice price, so I go to sell 17stacks of diamonds to him. Well I've just run out of diamonds but want to profit more, so I do /r see EmpireMall and see that he has 40k, just enough for another 256 diamonds. So I go to a cheaper shop, buy 256 diamonds, and resell to him. That makes EmpireMall happy because he has diamonds and me happy because my appetite for money is sated momentarily. Hope you guys like the suggestion and feel free to give me your feedback! I KNOW SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR HAS BEEN SUGGESTED BEFORE. PLEASE DO NOT SAY SO BELOW.
Hey just so you know something very similar has been suggested before Er... Hmm, I think this is a really good idea. Problems I've had in the past with rupee leaderboards/being able to see the balance of other players has been no option to opt in or out. Making it part of player settings though is a good idea. +1 from me, will definitely help for operating big shops and casinos.
makes competition causes drama end of story people worry about beating someone else etc (also it was already suggested)(kidding)
There's already competition on this server and there always will be. And it's not like this means people are able to NOW show wealth and never have before. I mean look at Finch. Everyone knows she's rich, you don't need a command to see that. This is not being suggested for competition because like I said, it already exists. It's being suggested for convenience of selling and buying. It also helps to eradicate the issue of people bidding on auctions they can't actually afford for the sole reason of bumping the price
As long as I can make it so people can't see my balance, sounds like a good idea for shop owners and stuff.
I don't know... I can see the use for it. Maybe also with the option to be able to make it only viseble to several persons, That would defenetly help out for people Like me, who share all rupees and items with someone else (Tomvanwijnen for me) but haven't got the password to the accounts (I can imagine Tom sometimes runs low and wants to see how many rupees he I have so That he he can spent them on even more useless stuff from auctions) but overall... I would have set it off to other players annyway, even if my mall gets re-opened, I do want people to see what's in stock (toggleprevieuw) but I don't really feel like it Will help my mall if people can see my rupee balance (funny autocorrect makes Balkenende from That) I have been Sittard and thinking About it, but I think That it Will have a neutral effect when I'm low, and a negative effect when I'm high up with my balance (I'm taling About several millions, wich sometimes was the case) -0 from me, neutral and if annything negative
Initially I thought this wasn't practical, but your arguments and suggestions turn it into a +1 from me
And yah there definitely are going to be some people who it will negatively effect but I'm not sure what extent Aikar would be able to/willing to put into it so that it's individual player perms instead of a mass amount.
