So I know I've suggested this in the past, but not necessarily in the way I am now. This is for the specific item. It would be an elytra that give off a heart particle effect when gliding. It is "Cupid's Wings" in bold pink The lore is in italic purple and says either "Who knew pigs could fly" or "I wonder how you got them". These would be Souldbound, Final, and have Mending on them. 32-48 of them could be dropped at a Valentine's Day Drop Party to keep the quantity of them limited. For promo items, don't forget to submit to suggestpromo.emc.gs so that the staff have it for reference.
Mending on the elytra basically takes away the effect of final/non repairable. Cupid bow, meteor bow, marlix bow, Turkey slicer, etc. Why not put mending on those? Because then the promo wouldn't be as special if you could simply grind some piggies and bam it's brand new again. So as for the enchants on the elytra unbreaking 3 would be good enough, with final, and soulbound. But honestly I think we could do without promo elytra because we already get enough cool fantastic promos from the staff each year. So -1 from me
So final makes it so you can't rename and apply other achievements. If the elytra were without mending they'd break after 5 minutes of usage. And also you completely contradicted yourself. You said you didn't want it because we already get cool promos. But if you don't want a promo suggested bc you already get cool ones it ruins the point of having the ability to suggest.
weell youll be more conservitive if the elytra is breakable and not fixable. And who cares about my opinion, everyone is free to suggest stuff. but I (notice i said I)just dont think its neccesary since staff has already done so much for us
elytra's dont "brake" as other tools, they enter a "broken state" +1 mending makes it so that the player actually has to do stuff to get it repaired, maybe it is infinit, but it comes with a cost, which i like
It completely ruins the point of having Elytra with particles when being used if you're just "supposed to be conservative of them". Aikar himself has said he enjoys the particles that came with the Cupid's Bow. And also, staff aren't the only people who suggest promos. Lots of promos have actually been suggested by multiple players. 2 prime examples are the Taste the Freedom Beef and a Headless Horseman Axe, so don't act like staff is the only group of people contributing to the promo field.
-1 i do not think it is fair to those who worked for 1 bet having a rare item that breaks in 5mins is not worth it to anyone think u can fly for 10 mins and even then when it is over you could never repair it again.
ok i fly for 10 mins it breaks i can never use it again? it is not worth it if u can't repair it. A lot of people worked for eletra so how is it fair to give them away? besides it can never be balanced to a fair degree without removing final ect it seems great on paper but horrible in game
Ok so I'm not sure people understand what the effect of Final is. Final makes it so that you can not use an item in an anvil. This means you can't add any new enchantments, so all it would ever have is mending. No unbreaking to reduce the amount of durability taken. And it's not hard to get an elytra, you can get a set of them enchanted for 32k, and when wastes reset that number will change. How is it not balanced? It's actually WORSE than a regular Elytra that most people on EMC have in usability, because it doesn't have unbreaking, and it's not unbreakable, per say, seeing as a player still has to repair it when it still gets to 0 durability. There is no physical way that this can be considered unbalanced.
Can i ask something (off topic) why do u argue your point on every suggestion you make? ex the other thread you made about a similar suggestion. i understand clearing up misunderstandings etc but you fight the person tooth and nail over their opinion. that is why i avoid putting in my input on your threads because i do not need to sit here wasting time arguing when i can do something productive ok back to topic why have mending on a promo all I need to do is sit at a mob farm (*cough cave spider or blaze) and spend 10-30 mins hacking them apart to fix it. what is the point of rare items if you can fix them forever ? it isn't rare if it is not possible to break. and final says can not be modified OR Repaired so mending goes against final
Unlike some other people in this thread. I like this idea. It's a custom item that would be semi-rare and sounds cool. I don't have a problem with mending being on this as accidentally using them is a lot easier compared to other custom, and rare items, like this one would be. +1 Editing several days later: Mending because particles, that makes more sense that what I said.
So, the point of a suggestion is because I want something to be implemented or put into the game. I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't want it to be a thing. Why would I suggest something if I didn't want to defend it and make it happen? That's actually the entire point of mending, so something can be repaired by gathering exp, whether that be a mob farm or not. And the point of this rare item being fixable is so it is usable. But it's not something that you would just get for free, you still have to get the Exp to repair it. It's got particles when flying, that's why you'd want it to be usable. And with Final, when it says "can not be modified or repaired" that means in an anvil.
off topic tooth and nail is not defending it is barbaric over kill. on topic: this removes the need for final and it would break when put in a anvil. also if it is soul bound it is a soul bound elytra..... how fair is that?

Not how the world works my friend XD but these are your suggestions and i can't stop you from voicing them but i do not think this will happen (sadly) great idea but it is short joy that is too op for a vanilla+ server (my opinion) please do not quote me ask me about this etc. I do not want to participate anymore the argument is not worth it.
