I'm so genuinely sorry.

  1. Aaah...
I didn't ever talk to you too much I think, but this does clear up some things. Okay.
Thanks for getting this out here in public.

Also, you keep reminding me of this but I never told you because I felt a bit ashamed. It seems relevant now, though. This sounds so stupid to me, too, but eh, I suppose it won't cause any problems sharing it. Perhaps that'd make it easier for me to stop for real.
For the past few years, at my school's online network thingy (Moodle), I've been pretending to be Jaimi (PlayTehMinecraft/Deshoda). Complete with full name, profile pictures, location, and speech patterns (to a degree). It started as a funny experiment, but at some point I really upset a girl by sending her messages as Jaimi (who she'd never known, of course) while still knowing stuff about her. At this point I realised this wasn't going right and I changed my profile picture to a photo of Piwi, and stopped sending messages to people pretending to be Jaimi.
My name has still been her name for the most part, though, although there were two times where I needed to change it back because my teachers didn't recognise who handed in that one assignment ;)
Perhaps it's time to change back permanently. Or perhaps change to 607, or something. Because I feel this joke has had its run, and I don't want to cause any more trouble with it.
Oh, and one more thing: after I changed my name, some guys that saw me do it did it too, to Dutch celebrities or something. This was obviously fake, but it made people realise it was even possible to change your name. So after a couple of weeks, less than two thirds of the people online at any point had their real names
But obviously, the school direction didn't agree with that, so they started reverting obvious fakes and sending people warning messages. I, however, hadn't been caught out yet. And I knew what to do to prevent the same happening to me. The only way whoever reset the names knew who the original owners were, was by e-mail address, I supposed. So what did I do? Duh.
I created a new e-mail address and said it as the address for my account: [Jaimi's name and surname (have said it in public before but she didn't seem to like that, understandably)]@kittymail.com. You may mail me if you wish, I'll keep the e-mail account even if I stop using it, as a remnant of the past. ;)
  2. Just to clarify, I'm not in Melbourne especially to meet up, Melbourne was on the route so I thought, hell, why not. You're still a very nice person to talk to and have laughs with no matter what you pretended to be etc.

It's the Internet, internet gives people liberties to pretend who they are. That's the dark and sometimes fun part of the Internet. I'm not angry, or mad, or whatever. I'm glad you came out n told everyone :)

  3. Well that was certainly an interesting read before bed. No judgement though, seeing as I would be a hypocrite. I've done somewhat similar stuff like this as well, when I was a teenager. The internet makes us do crazy things, at least you owned up to it! :)

  5. Well... lets just say, you aren't the only one. Smp7 seems to be full of similar instances *evil laugh* oh, I have way too big of a loud mouth to be able to pull something like this off but I have kept some things a secret for a long long time :)
  6. ...

  7. I do that kind of stuff to be a writer. How people would react to what things happen in lives. I've only been real to my family and EMC. It's okay. Be who you truly are, not who you want to be.

  9. Basically, who knows what is the truth. What you are saying now could also be lies. This could be a 40 year old stalker of kids. The moral of the story is that online you must always be always cautious. Just because this is a minecraft server doesn't mean individuals might not have other motives in mind. Pretending they are someone they are not. Never give out your personal information and always be suspicious of anyone that wants to get that information. There are a lot of sickos out there.
  10. omg you're my hero

  11. Did they really now?

Here's my small take on it... If people went after you or wanted to be friends with you only because of the way you look then I wouldn't value those friendships all that much to begin with. Quite frankly I think a majority of EMC players wouldn't do that, but even so....

And another thing to consider: you said that you added a few lies (the way you look, age and your studies) but were honest about everything else. So those people who came to know you a bit better would still mostly have the real 'you' in mind when they met up with you.

I think its a funny prank and pretty much harmless. But I also think it's admirable that you came clean with the whole thing. One thing though:

Simple: because this happens quite often. Some people look younger (or older) than they actually are, and the same can apply to someones voice. I think what you noticed here was an healthy dose of "EMC atmosphere" where players don't start assuming but simply try to take the players for who they really are, even though that sounds a little ironic I guess :p

Thanks for coming clean and well, I have to admit that I think its still a very funny story :)

  14. tbf where I live, it's policy to card anyone who looks under 30 or so, just in case.
  15. Woah, everyone's like.. forming deep personal connections and meeting each other outside of EMC? I thought all we did was chit-chat and make silly forum posts.

The hell have I been doing this whole time?

  18. Hi! My username is __Khepri__ but my real name is [REDACTED].
I have an abnormally large wart on my left buttock, and i have a single long chest hair. My favourite colour is the color of vomit. I enjoy long walks on the beach, eating hamburgers, and misogynistic society. I hope we can become friends, unless you're not of the same sex, race, or orientation as me, in which case, burn in hell. :D

(/s, in case that wasn't obvious)
  19. I got the same sex part, no idea about the others, I think I will be good about not burning in hell, we are best friends now. I am white brown hair, blue eyes. Now you know me.:):):)

  20. It might start like that, but once you start having paper macaroons private messages with people, perhaps even separate from this site, things can escalate ;)
