Help with shop tag

Discussion in 'Marketplace Discussion' started by cubefragment, Jul 17, 2016.

  1. I have 3 chest with random enchanted items in them. The signs all say choose, and they work. Its just that I can't figure out how to get a shop tag, because the item are all random.

I know how to set the tag with single items. Do I need to set up a single item chest to get a shop tag? Or is there a way to set it with the choose signs?
  2. I hope this helps:

If this does not help you, click here to go to the wiki page on creating playershops.

  3. Thank you for the reply. It that with the enchanted random items. Only the one item shows up in the chest, when you put them all in. I will try again.

And going the wiki was the first thing I did. Again Thank you for the help.
  4. with the choose signs you can only have 1 price for all them. If you want different prices for each item you would have to setup a single chest with a different price each time.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean with 'shop tag' to be honest. A tag is normally something you'd set on your residence. For example, you could use /res tag add shop which adds the tagname 'shop' to your residence, this helps to players who'd use /v +shop to find yours (there's a chance they'll land on your residence too).

Of course creating a custom tag might be even better. For example, on SMP2 (my home server) there are 2 well known malls and their owners use specific tags for their shops: poof & ssrc. So you can use: /v +poof or /v +ssrc to visit them.

Note that using a tag name is fully optional. Using 'shop' might help but you can easily use a custom one (see above). So it's also not required to set tags for every item you sell (horse, mule, promo, etc.).

    Hope this can also help.

    Yes and no :)

The choose signs also allow you to specify a specific range. And you can have several signs which use the same chest. That allows you to use one chest to sell different items for different prices.

The wiki explains this (obviously) but I also wrote a more extensive guide which might be useful for the shared examples: https://empireminecraft.com/threads/guide-using-the-new-shop-signs.66222/

  6. Thank You ShelLuser, That was the command I was looking for. I will set a custom one once the res is completely set up. :)
