I'm not going to debate whether they actually tried to copy you or not, but if military names is grounds for copy, your copying like 1 million other people lol. Military ranks is like the defacto standard in "Clan" creation. Also, am I blind? where are these "Scenarios" people are commenting on. I don't see them.
Based on the poll - 1st, 3rd and 5th answers = most people don't like it but don't see a way of banishing it.

The poll is rigged. The poll doesn't have "Using ideas is not stealing" as an option. I, for one, didn't participate in the poll because there is not a correct choice listed--just a few distractors. I suspect I am not alone in non-participation.
Option 2 would have been for you. Although you don't think it's theft it's still pretty much what you want to say.
There had to be someone at some point who decided that if he tugged at the cows udder, then drinking that white stuff would be a Good Thing. Sometimes, you don't always want to be first to do something.
I have to disagree with you, as what Edmund was saying was that 'using' someone's ideas is not stealing their ideas, as if they show the world their idea, then they are risking the possibility that someone will be impressed and attempt to replicate it for themselves or for personal gain. Stealing ideas is not alright (plagiarism) but if it's publicly available and you give the source credit, then it's alright.
It most definitely is NOT pretty much what I want to say. Option 2 allows that using an idea that someone else may have thought up first is theft. I agree to no such point. Everyone has ideas, most ideas are so simple and obvious that many people have them--this is why you can't protect an idea either in the game or in the real world. "Ideas are not property and therefore can't be stolen." is pretty much what I want to say, but that option wasn't presented in the biased poll. If this whole Minecraft thing doesn't work out for the OP, he has a bright future writing polls for pretty much any of the major news networks.
As i said he might not agree with the word steal but that is what he should vote Replace "steal" with "use" and what do you get?
I'm sorry that my mind was so narrow as to overlook a few possibilities. If you want to claim that I am biased and that I purposely left out key options, go ahead.
The point is that you made all options that were on the opposite side of the fence from your opinion sound like - if anyone chose them then they were horrible people.
