“Wait you’re a mom? That’s so weird!!”
“Yeah! Moms don’t play minecraft!!”
I cannot count the number of times that has been said to me. Guess what? Moms do in fact play minecraft. And I for one, enjoy it. In fact I make time in my day just to play it! After the chores are done, the kids have eaten, are napping and I have gotten something for myself to eat, I play minecraft. My life as a mom always comes first, but I love to relax by playing this game.
The work of a mom is never done. Allow me to give you a glimpse into my typical day: I get up with my two children early every morning. They get breakfast and then we play for a few hours. Willow then goes for her first nap. Damien stays awake at this time and usually he eats some lunch so his sister doesnt take it from him. Once Willow wakes up, we eat lunch and play together for a few hours more. I use the term ‘play’ very loosely. It is usually 2-3 hours of me chasing after the kids yelling “no don’t touch that, no get back here, oh god don’t eat that, where did you even find that?!” Then after that, it is nap time again. This time both my kids go to sleep. Around 5 when my husband comes home, I get ready to leave for work. The only time I stop moving is during my kids nap times. That is when I try to do some household chores and then play on EMC for a short while. On a rare occasion, they might even join me if they cannot sleep.
Empire Minecraft is the only server I have ever played on and I don’t intend on going anywhere else. There is one reason I came to EMC but multiple reasons I stayed. My husband played EMC first. He and his buddy would play together almost nightly. They loved it so much and begged me to join them. Finally one night I agreed. I signed in and never looked back.
From the moment I started, I was met with acceptance. The community here is one I could not and will never find anywhere else. I quickly made several good friends. Some I would consider better friends than people I know in the real world. Another reason I stayed was the French vanilla approach to Minecraft. I have never really enjoyed mini games and I absolutely loathe PVP. This server was perfect! If I wanted to play a game I could with their events like Mob Arena or FireFloor. If I wanted to avoid PVP at all costs, I just needed to avoid that area of smp6. Aikar, the owner, made this server perfect for people of all play styles! There is something for everyone. That makes it worth making time to play. It helps me relax as a mom. I can create anything! I can make friends with people that I would never get the opportunity to meet in regular circumstances. And most importantly I can play my own way!
As a busy mom I am always looking for ways to relax and unwind. Minecraft, and EMC in particular, have created that relaxation escape for me. I am able to turn it on and enter a virtual world full of friends and the most amazing masterpieces I have ever seen! I can talk to people I would never get the opportunity to meet in my daily life. I can explore whole worlds created for the sole purpose of why not? There truly is no place like EMC.
So no, it isn’t ‘weird’ that I play minecraft. I can enjoy it and I’m a mom!

I am an Mom also. But my kids are grown and they got me started on EMC. I love it. Don’t forget the stress free Minecraft music they play to help you unwind!

I am a Mom too! And just like Sassy my kid are grown and they were the ones that got me started playing Minecraft. However, the discovery of EMC was all my own. In fact, my son followed me here and has his own frontier outpost.
