It's a nice idea, however like you said it's very unlikely to happen. I know some players have met up in real life and some of the staff too, but a event like this is quite unlikely with loads of people. The problem is EMC players are so widespread all around the world, sure you can do it for a specific area but unless there are a lot of active members in that area a real life gathering is unlikely unfortunately.
