There should really be a plugin for optional flying

If it was only available for town and you had a dragon egg, I guess it would be OK. Seeing as we're a French Vanilla server it would be OK if there was a catch involved. But the dragon eggs are going to be hard to find and you want creative flying with no catch.

If he thought that flying was already allowed, then he wouldn't have started a thread about it, and said:

But they're not using a fly mod, they're asking if it can be legalised, which is a fair enough question. They are definitely aware of the fact that it is currently not allowed, or they wouldn't be making threads about it to try and get it changed, as I said in my last post.

Well, I still think the Guide isn't flexible enough to change that. Or anything really.

The guide also currently says:

They should really add a "nobody cares" button on the forums............

Just Be Reading this title I already think its the worst idea ever.
Now unlike others i'm going to give reasons.
#1 We Are A French Vanilla Server So No Flying.
#2 You Just joined here. No Offense but you should at least wait to be a member to suggest ideas as your still figuring out the server.
#3 If Flying was allowed then someone could get a hacked client and Make their speed 100x and crash the whole server by going to the No-No Area

Long story: If flying was optional, mostly all new members (and most of everyone else) will turn on fly. Even if this were put in, (it will NEVER be though) griefers now have a terrible advantage and can grief at will and faster than ever.
In Town, I see no harm of it, though building without fly mode on is very rewarding at the end and it gets quite annoying to see Minecraft genies all over the servers....
