I noticed the /who player cap limit (by default) is 40 However, I also noticed guests (people in tutorial) are part of the number of 'total count' as well... ------ I have a few suggestions that might help out. If the event server is released or a new tutorial is made ... Have only one tutorial on one server... This way all new players are consolidated to one area ... and it doesn't have to keep 8 extra worlds loaded... and doesn't take up extra 8 smp's cap amount... ------ When the players finish tutorial - he/she will then be teleported to the default server... New players will need a temporary player cap over ride, however, until after his/her initial teleport ... in case that particular smp is full at that given time-frame. ------- This way it might save on server resources and keep 8/9 player caps lower.
I actually agree on this. I never understood why each server had it's own tutorial, why not just one tutorial for all 9 servers? You can probably put the tutorial on the Utopia server and they get teleported to the SMPs in the end.
I believe the default server is never at 40 players, so the cap overlap might not be needed. 2 concerns I have: 1. If player has questions during the tutorial, they won't have anyone to answer it for them and 2. If 2 new players (friends) join at the same time, there is a possibility of them joining different servers, so they'd have to unclaim their residence, vault stuff over and get a new residence, which might be a lot for a new player. But overall not a bad idea.
I think that this is a very Good idea, it would help to keep more spots open on the more busier Servers.
Maybe there could be an option for asking which server he/she would prefer to play on? or if they'd like to look around on each server before auto (or manually) claiming a residence?
